DRAGONS

Some would say,
those with no imagination,
that there are no dragons. Those same
might decry fairies and Santa Claus..

Without dragons,
what would the good knight slay
to win fair maiden languishing
high above the castle’s moat.

There are the great dragons,
to inflame young minds to adventure,
braving the night’s dark shadows,
with brandished wooden swords.

The most fearsome are those dragons
that imprison with musterbation.(*)
You must, one doesn’t; in our circle of friends;
You cannot; wait, you’ll never be ….

Come back, white knight,
and slay those dragons
that would deaden our lives
to deedless normalcy.
..

(*) Word coined by Wayne Dyer in his book, Erroneous Zone, circa 1960’s)
