SUMMER IN EUGENE

It’s nice to know that all is well,
music, singing everywhere,
outdoor tables, tasting wines,
it’s summer in Eugene.

Balmy skies, gentle rains,
Not too hot, not too cold,
a perfect time for all of us.
It’s summer in Eugene.

The parks are filled with children,
no homeless there, they’re gone,
none in my view, no matter where.
It’s summer in Eugene.

No homeless shiver on the streets,
they’re warm in trees and shrubs.
It is so pleasant now, all is well.
It’s summer in Eugene.

It will get cold and dank, I guess.
There should really be a safe dry place,
but,
just not near our schools, our part of town,
when summer’s over in Eugene.

And perhaps in your town
