It’s never been done. It cannot be.
Just use your head. You’ll never see.
We cannot afford, it’s not meant to be.
It will only cause trouble, don’t blame me.
Look at the facts, numbers don’t lie.
Everyone knows, they say with a sigh.

True havoc does strike, effects seem so real.
But know it will pass, with time all scars heal.

But the romantic dreams large, looses his thought.
If only we could—, frees his mind just to plot.
Imagines the goal; thrusts problems aside,
we’ll deal with those later. Has this ever been tried?
Moment by moment, small victories shake free
What once was so real, lies in history’s debris.

I’m sure you suspect that this poem came out of the file drawer, well the computer’s file drawer,
but since Groundwaters and I started trading word.
Always good to hear from you, Pat.

Great movement here, Gus. I can feel reality spinning me out of control in this poem. Is everything an illusion after all? Hmmm.
